With Valentine’s Day approaching, many singles may still be scrambling for someone to date on that crucial February 14th holiday. Data processing agency WalletHub crunched the data to show where the best places are for singles searching for romance. Their results show Texas as #3 Best State for Singles.
WalletHub compared all 50 states using 29 key indicators in their search for the friendliest dating scenes. These factors included share of single adults, nightlife options, and cost for a movie date. They concluded that states with lower cost of living can greatly improve your chances to date. Cheaper or more frequent dates are yours for the asking!
Texas Boasts Most Restaurants Per Capita

Texas was rated in first place for restaurants per capita and movie theaters per capita. Median annual household income came in at #11, and mobile dating opportunities were #12. Texas was 29th for percentage of single adults, and 30th for online dating opportunities. Unemployment rates and job growth were also considered.
Some of the criteria used in deciding the results of the survey included average beer and wine price, also average Starbucks Caffe Latte price, and movie costs (popcorn not included). Analysists even considered the cost of grooming, such as haircuts and beauty salon costs.

Other attractions such as cultural performances, museums, or parks were also considered. Music festivals, amusement parks, and fitness or recreational facilities were also in the mix. So was access to bars, followed closely by crime rate.
If you still haven’t met the right person, maybe it’s time to consider moving to Florida. The sunshine state was declared the #1 best state in the union for singles. Or California, who ranked #2. California was rated first for dating opportunities, and second for fun and romance.
Be sure to take extra cash along if you decide to join the dating scene in either of those states. Florida is ranked #33 and California is #49 (like next to last!) for Dating Economics. Texas is ranked #22 for economical dating. Those really watching the budget will do best in Utah. That’s the state ranked least expensive place for dating.
