This American Christian rock and pop artist is the former front man of the GRAMMY® Award-nominated band, Royal Tailor, which he started while in college. “While we were touring, we stumbled into this thing called the music business that we didn’t know existed,” shared Tauren Wells. Shortly after arriving in Houston, the band ended up being signed for six years and put out two albums. It was this move that Wells admitted started his professional career in music. In 2017, Wells debuted his solo career after needing a change of pace from the current touring schedule he had with the band to spend more time with his wife and children.
With an impressive resume of songs, his passion for creating music is a glowing example of years of dedication to not only his craft but also the importance he places on his deep-rooted desire to bring people closer to their identity in God. It’s not more evident than in his hits from his debut album, “Hills and Valleys,” such as “Love is Action,” “When We Pray,” “Known,” “God’s Not Done With You,” “Hills and Valleys,” and “Undefeated,” featuring rapper KB. Each of his songs carries a strong message that resonates with many folks for the inspiration and hope they carry in each lyric. “I draw a lot of inspiration for my music from my relationship with God,” shared Wells. “I see most things in my life through the lens of my faith. What comes out is a faith-filled perspective, and sometimes I am writing what a faith-filled response would be to a certain moment. I want my songs to always show there are real conflicts and pain in the world, but that pain can make us a prisoner or it can be a professor to teach us things if we view it through the lens of our faith.”
