The name of the establishment comes from a symbol of one fateful day in Texas history: February 23rd, 1836. On this day, over 1,500 soldiers of the Mexican army marched into what is now the city of San Antonio. They raised a red flag as a warning signal. In response, William Barret Travis of the Texas Army fired a cannonball from the biggest cannon at the Alamo, and thus began the battle for the Republic of Texas. Texas Cannon Brewing salutes those who have fought and fight today for freedom everywhere. Currently, open hours are Fridays from 3 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 9 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m.

The brewed beers are rotating. Currently, IPAs, Pale Ales, Bitters, and more are flowing through the taps. Try the Amarillo Ale or the 6 Pounder IPA on Nitro. Paired with hearty meals such as wings and pizza, or snacks like Frito Pie and Funnel Cake Fries, this outing makes for a great start (or end!) to a day of exploring Blanco County. New growlers and growler fills are also available, as well as non-alcoholic drinks. Get into the Texas spirit, listen to music on the way, and enjoy a pint or two at Blanco’s newest eatery located at 307 4th Street, Blanco, Texas 78606!
