An Arlington, Texas couple have welcomed a newborn baby boy who weighed in at 14 pounds, 13 ounces! Born at Arlington Memorial Hospital on December 12, Ali James Medlock was 21.5 inches long and was the largest baby their doctor said he ever delivered in his 30-year career. He is the second child for parents Jennifer and Eric Medlock, whose first baby weighed 9 pounds, 10 ounces at birth.
The Medlocks have told local media that Ali was a record-breaker for the hospital, which took good care of him shortly thereafter. He remained in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for a week after his birth due to rapid breathing as well as low blood sugar and platelets. The Texas couple both teach music in the Arlington Independent School District and have since been able to take Ali home to his older sister Annabelle and spend Christmas together.
