Touring Texas in style has always been a dream of those that live out-of-state and wish to make the most of their time exploring and learning. The Lone Star State has so many excellent and unique aspects to it, that it almost wouldn’t seem possible to accomplish such a feat. Not so, says Grand American Adventures – a travel company which has coordinated a 10-day tour of Texas departing from Dallas at the cost of $3,549 (according to their recent website pricing.)

Sounding like a dream, the itinerary for this whirlwind tour of Texas includes a two-night Texan ranch stay that features horseback riding and home cooked meals, a two-person paddle/rafting adventure on the Rio Grande, a visit to the Sixth Floor Museum and the infamous “grassy knoll,” some live music experiences in Austin (including a requisite visit to a honky-tonk), as well as visiting The Alamo and the San Antonio River Walk. Amazingly enough, it also includes two nights at Big Bend National Park, a history of the Republic of Texas, and plenty of Tex-Mex cuisine and culture!

Optional activities are included at an additional cost, such as the state capitol building in Austin, a visit to Barton Springs, Fort Concho, and Miss Hattie’s Bordello Museum, as well as a stop at Bending Branch Winery. Doesn’t this trip sound dreamy?! As a Texan, we know there are much more great places to see and things to do. We could probably fill an entire two-week itinerary with hole-in-the-wall stops alone that are well worth the trip. Where would you tour an out-of-stater looking to have a grand time in Texas? There’s got to be foodie fan tours, stargazing trips, outdoors groups, and so much more that exist which you would almost think couldn’t put a dent in a Texas visitor’s bucket list. What would you recommend for touring Texas in style?
