8 Tricks to Kick Spiders to the Curb

6. Mint

Peppermint oil or a mint spray is proven to repel spiders. But, peppermint dissipates rather quickly so it has to be renewed quite often, every 2 or 3 days.  Also, peppermint has been known to have some harmful effects on pets and children so be cautious when using this powerful oil.

7. Tobacco

Do you smoke? Take some tobacco and spread it around your home in areas that spiders like to inhabit. Or make a spray by adding tobacco into some warm water, let it set overnight, and then spray it into dark areas that harbor insects.

8. Baking Soda

Another item that can be used is baking soda.  Just sprinkle the dry powder into areas of access, such as windows, doorstops, corners and under cabinets and sinks.  Add fresh about once a month.

If all these fail then the last resort is catch and release…..it’s called a vaccum cleaner.
