The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo announced its much-anticipated entertainment lineup shortly after midnight on January 9, 2017. Because all things are bigger in Texas the announcement had to be as grand an event as the rodeo itself!
Shortly after midnight, President and CEO Joel Cowley and Vice-President and COO Dan Cheney addressed a live crowd of lucky winners and media as they made the announcement. Opening night entertainer, and first time performer, Aaron Watson was on hand to reveal the names of the 2017 lineup as many online were also on deck watching the live event on Facebook and leaving comments.

Since 1932, The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has been a tradition in the great city of Houston, TX and one of its signature events. The kick-off for the Rodeo begins with the Rodeo parade in downtown Houston as crowds gather to catch a glimpse of the trail riders that rode into town along with local high school and college bands, cheerleaders, and dance teams marching down the street. Not to be outdone are also the local city officials riding down the street in cars and some even on horseback.
