One of the most charming spots to find yourself in Texas is the Hill Country Mile in beautiful Boerne’s historic district. But don’t just take our word for it. The Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association recently announced that this charming piece of prime shopping and dining property was designated a “Great Street in Texas.” A stroll down this one-of-a-kind “Texas-sized” mile (1.1 miles long) filled with galleries, great dining, and high-end boutiques is an absolute must. As frequent visitors to this crown jewel of their town, Boerne residents have long known the value and good taste that its businesses exemplify. Now that it’s been formally recognized by those beyond the Hill Country, every Texan will know this unique experience isn’t just an embellishment—it really is that great!

Alongside the beauty and luxury to which the historic district in Boerne lends itself so nicely, its boutique shopping has to be a close second in its attractiveness. Even those who know about the unbeatable opportunities for shopping throughout Texas have found at least five Boerne boutiques that qualify as some of the best stores the state has to offer. Which is why they made the 2019 Shop Across Texas “Best Stores in Texas” list (a.k.a. “the bible of Texas shopping)! And when you’re shopping, you tend to work up an appetite. The exceptional dining along the Hill Country Mile produces one of the biggest joys mankind can experience—unmistakably delicious food. The local cuisine coaxes visitors into returning time and again.

With all the impressive eateries that dot Boerne’s Hill Country Mile, those who settle for nothing but the best certainly won’t be disappointed. Peggy’s on the Green and The Creek Restaurant, not to mention the Dodging Duck Brewhaus, and many more, all offer a unique dining experience. Between each of the well-established restaurants, a captivating course of appetizers, entrees, and desserts that are shareable will draw your crowd in and satisfy even the staunchest of food critics. With authentic German, Italian, Asian, Mexican, and Latin cuisine offerings, it’s practically the United Nations of food! However, a new offering will soon make its presence known to discerning foodies and join the contingent of Boerne’s best: enter the Iron Stag.
