The video captures the essence of Jep and Jessica Robertson’s love (of “Duck Dynasty” fame), while the depth of the lyrics speak to what today’s listener gravitates toward. The Josh Abbott Band has its own brand of sound that is palpable in their latest single release. A listener can feel the lyrics as much as if they were experiencing them their own selves. It’s a type of musical metaphor very few bands and single acts in Texas, let alone nationwide, can draw a fan into. It speaks to a narrative that plays out almost daily for those who get that once-in-a-lifetime love they’re referencing. For a band that has obviously shared the sensation a time or two before, they express the most difficult as well as the happiest of times through their music and the band’s obvious industry progression, which has been meteoric in comparison to the stumbling blocks they’ve come up against.
