Get Sunburn Relief Quickly and Naturally
Many people want to apply ice to a burn, however, don’t put ice directly on the burn. Apply compresses dipped in ice water or take cool showers, but not for too long as the water contributes to drying out the skin, which you don’t want to do. Stay away from soaps that can also dry out your skin. Keep the burned areas moisturized but not with oil based products which keep the heat in your skin, with the exception of coconut oil. Some professional services recommend taking an anti-inflammatory drug to help lessen discomfort, such as ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin.

Aloe Vera is a tried and true treatment for burns, especially straight from the plant. Carefully slice open the aloe stem and scrape out the gel. Apply to your burned areas. If you must use a gel make sure that it is pure without any preservatives.

Bring to a boil 1 cup of water with ¼ cup of dried plantain leaves, fresh can be substituted for the dried leaves. Let steep and cool, then add an equal amount of apple cider vinegar. Strain it and pour into a spray bottle or just dip a clean cloth into the liquid and apply gently to your burn. This mixture is very effective at relieving the pain.
Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is known for its many beneficial qualities. It is a natural sunscreen for short term sun exposure, but excels as a moisture retainer in the skin and reduces peeling and redness from sunburn. Mixing a few drops of lavender essential oil with your coconut oil greatly reduces discomfort from burning. Sunburn relief from coconut oil is almost instantaneous.
