Lavender is known for its breathtaking beauty and healing scent. Becker Vineyards, established in 1992, has 46 acres of rich farm land. Dr. Richard Becker and his wife Bunny decided to build their gorgeous vineyards outside of Stonewall,Texas. The vineyard has so much to offer!

They began with wine; the Beckers were the first to commercially plant viognier grapes in Texas. The best thing is, there’s more! Not only do they grow grapes and lavender, they also have an abundance of wildflowers, a peach orchard, and seasonal hay. “The late Former First Lady- Lady Bird Johnson- famous for her National Wildflower projects, loved our fields of native wildflowers growing on the property (and loved our Chardonnay”) –Becker Vineyards

The Beckers discovered their love for lavender on a trip to France where the climate was a lot like ours in the Hill Country. They noticed the rows upon rows of fragrant purple lavender. So, they decided to try it out at their vineyard in Texas. After trying a few different types of lavender plants and having lost a multitude of plants because of heat waves and torrential rain, they decided the Lavendula Stoechas (Spanish) was the best choice of lavender for our crazy Texas weather. They put in some hard work so people could come enjoy the lavender fields while sipping some wine in a peaceful setting.
