Spring, Texas’ own acclaimed gymnast Simone Biles heads to the Olympic Games in Rio this year!

ABC 13 reports that Biles took part in “one of the most difficult selection processes in the history of women’s gymnastics for the Olympic games” on Sunday night when officials announced the final lineup for the team. She joins past Olympians Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman and new teammates Madison Kocian and Laurie Hernandez.

It’s really no surprise that Biles will represent the United States in Rio as USA Today calls her “far and away the best gymnast in the world right now, and maybe ever… Biles’ spot on the team has all but been guaranteed for years. She’s the most decorated female medalist at world championships and just needed to do her job to make the team.”

Despite her amazing strength and poise, Biles did not assume she held a spot on the gymnastics team until her name was officially called. She said, “I don’t think there’s a good enough word to describe the feeling besides if there’s anything happier than happy and relieved.”

Texas and the rest of America will cheer her on this summer when she takes on the world along with her teammates in the Summer Olympic Games.
