In 1910, the old, three-story, McCulloch Jail was built. The jail served as a correctional facility for many years. Inside the jail is a “death cell” that was used for extremely troubled prisoners. In 1974, the jail changed to a historical museum and was named the Heart of Texas Historical Museum. The museum is filled with numerous stories and rich history.
