The 13th Floor Haunted House in San Antonio will be hiring over 200 employees to work at the scariest place in San Antonio this fall. The positions that the organization is currently hiring for are actors, cashiers, and event staff. Auditions are open for actors every Wednesday and Saturday until September 27. Are you creepy enough to play a part?

A Historic Building With a Haunted History

The building that currently houses the 13th Floor Haunted House has a haunted history of its own. In the early 1940’s the building that houses the 13th Floor Haunted House operated briefly as a hotel for passengers traveling in and out of Sunset Station. According to legend, a group of school children arrived at the station en route to their destination south of San Antonio. The weather turned, and the bus driver who was to take them the rest of the way decided it would be best if they waited until morning to complete their journey. They checked in to the hotel across the street and turned in for the night. The next morning, the rain had let up, so the bus driver loaded the children and headed south.

Just south of town, on the same railroad tracks that brought the group of children to San Antonio, a train was moving swiftly down the tracks, when the engineer spied a school bus stalled along his path. Frantically he pulled his break and tugged on the train whistle; the huge engine quickly advanced toward the school bus, unable to stop in time. Ten children reportedly lost their lives that tragic day.

Legend has it that they continue to haunt the area–including the hotel where they spent their final night–protecting others from a similar fate. So, if you’re cast as a ghost at the 13th Floor, you might have some terrifyingly realistic co-workers.

If you think you’ve got what it takes to not only work in a potentially haunted building but also regularly scare the pants off of people, go to the 13th Floor website to learn more. No experience is necessary and the only qualification you need to have is (perhaps) a deranged interest in causing panic and fear in innocent patrons.
