Utopia is known for their friendly people and also because they do not have any red lights. Utopia is a place where everyone can enjoy something. The area holds an annual event called the Utopiafest. This is a music festival in October spread out over two days. They also offer an Art fair that happens the first Saturday in November. This fair contains over fifty booths with various work and artists. Another big event Utopia is known for is the fall foliage, which can be seen at the Lost Maples State Natural Area. The fall foliage can be anywhere from October until November. Scenic drives are excellent in the fall when the colors are changing.
Utopia’s Main Street has all kinds of shops, ranging from French antique shops to flower shops and souvenir shops. The Hill Country Nature Center is another great place to stop in. At this center there are displays of several animals and insects.
A visit to Texas Hill Country would not be the same without stopping to golf at Texas Hill’s many locations. Utopia is known for their picturesque golf course, Utopia Golf Course. The Movie Seven Days in Utopia was inspired by the beautiful area and this golf course.
The best place to swim in Utopia is on the Sabinal River located in the Utopia Community Park. This area has a nice swimming hole with a rope swing and is covered by enormous Cypress Trees. People can swim, tan, fish, camp, and enjoy a picnic at the Sabinal River.
