Every state has at least one thing they can brag about, and Texas is no exception. But it seems we’ve been blessed with far more than just one! Georgia may have their peaches, and Idaho their potatoes, but here in Texas there are some things we can’t let pass by without the opportunity to talk about them. Here are five, but we’re sure you could come up with at least a dozen more!

1. Rodeos

We have the largest rodeo in the world taking place right here in Texas! The Houston rodeo is second-to-none, and following that, honorable mention goes to Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, Bandera, and almost every other city in the Lone Star State!

2. NASA

When things aren’t going so well in the rest of the universe, that’s when you normally hear the words, “Houston, we have a problem.” Who are you going to call? Texas! That’s who! And we have some pretty cool space shuttles to cruise around in, too.

3. Billy Bob’s

We’d be downright silly not to brag about having the world’s largest honky tonk! Texas is home to the phenomenon that is Billy Bob’s, complete with great music, dancing, good BBQ, and amazing atmosphere. Who could want for anything more?

4. The Alamo

There aren’t any fights that come to mind where we’ve known a Texan to just give up. It’s put up or shut up, and the Alamo is solid proof of it. Yes, we brag on that beauty every chance we get!

5. Texas Longhorn Cattle

They’re no prehistoric beast (although we’ve had proof of that in Texas as well), and they’re not out there doing special tricks or fetching our papers for us each morning. But there seems to be something majestic about these guys, and driving by a field full of them can make a Texan nostalgic to say the least. We do believe they’re ours, and they’re worth bragging about!
