With what’s being called the first crystal clear lagoon in Texas, the Balmoral master-planned community in Humble is making waves (not literally) with a sandy beach and its two-acre water feature as standout components of the property.

Beginning to be filled early last week, the soon-to-be Texas oasis will be part of the community which is opening in Humble near Woodland Hills Drive and N. Sam Houston Parkway. Local media flew over the man-made lagoon feature, capturing images of the first drops of cool water to flow into the crystal clear lagoon and sharing their video from above, showing just how massive the water component truly is.

Breaking ground on the Balmoral lagoon in the fall of 2017, Land Tejas Cos. is constructing the concrete structure and told local press that it will boast two swimming sections together with a deeper paddleboard and kayak area. Although man-made lakes are nothing new to Texas, an entire concrete lagoon structure as a water feature for a planned community has never been seen before in the Lone Star State. Texas is a great proving ground for new projects such as this, considering the hot summer temperatures we’re known for having and the need for safe places to enjoy water activities close to home.
