Over the past five years, H-E-B has been on a mission to discover new culinary talent. “H‑E‑B has set out on a quest to find the best in Texas—the best local products made by Texans! From the Panhandle to the Rio Grande Valley, from West Texas to Beaumont,” shares its website.

The video above highlights the 2018 “Quest for Texas Best” finalist in what looked to be a delicious assortment of innovative creations to tempt your palate.

“Quest for Texas” is an open call for locally‑owned, small food and beverage suppliers to vie for the opportunity to have their products proudly displayed on H-E-B shelves. Who wouldn’t want to share grandma’s recipe for jam that would make any sweet tooth crave just a little more?

Starting Wednesday, February 27, you can visit the H-E-B website at www.heb.com for the full details on how to enter. You’d better hurry, too, because entries won’t be accepted after April 5. You can also check out the website to see some of the past winners and their “Texas best products!”

H-E-B is a grocery chain based in the Texas Hill Country, and it’s been ranked among the Top 20 retailers in the nation. Texans love this Lone Star State business, and their loyalty runs deep. Business Insider even called the chain “the best grocery store in the US.” That proclamation came after H-E-B’s famed Selena bag promotion. The special, limited-edition bags honored the late Queen of Tejano, and the singer’s legions of fans quickly snatched them up. The demand was so great it even crashed the H-E-B website momentarily. If you haven’t shopped at H-E-B, you don’t know what you’re missing!
