There’s something about warmer weather that lends itself nicely to not only being creative but active with your family! While nearly every child loves to spend time with their parent or grandparent, sharing an activity together is extra special and helps to develop their pride in themselves as well as helping them pass the time. While many parts of Texas are experiencing reopening procedures resulting from the pandemic, some families are choosing to stick close to home. Therefore, many parents are also turning to online tutor services such as Preply.com. With that, they’re also finding more time to share and get creative with their kids, helping them to get through. While some activities take a bit of expertise to execute, here are some ideas which are very easy to recreate and will result in special time with the family.

1. Baseball

Many of our kids have their own bats, balls, and gloves at home, making it easy for the family to get together and play baseball. It helps them work on special skills, and you can talk about the game’s importance to you as a family. Perhaps they have a special team they cheer for. You could find time to show them you share that in common, which supports their confidence as well. Baseball not only has a great significance to Texas and the U.S., but it builds on a child’s physical abilities and talents and can also be a bonding experience they will remember.

2. Making Frozen Treats

With the temperatures rising here in Texas, making frozen treats for the kids is never a bad thing. Including them in that practice will help them to learn but also teach them a new skill. Freezing things doesn’t require the use of a stove or share utensils, so safety can more easily be monitored. Some fantastic ideas for homemade frozen specialties that your kids can help with can be found at the link provided here.

3. Water Games

In times of extreme heat, water play with kids is definitely a good bet! Making water balloons with a hose, creating your own homemade slip-n-slide, and playing in a kiddie pool can go a long way towards cooling them off and showing them you know how to have fun with them. There’s an excellent list on the It’s Always Autumn site called “25 Water Games Your Kids Can Play This Summer,” which incorporates safe, relatively easy, and inexpensive activities you can do for entertaining and teaching at home.
